Diário de Notícias

It was born at the Tipografia Universal by Thomas Quintino, leaded by Eduardo Coelho, in 1864. The first headquarters were on the corner between Rua dos Calafates (today's Rua do Diário de Notícias) and Travessa do Poço da Cidade.  In 1940, the paper moved to Avenida da Liberdade.
